I came across a blog resource entitled "Interesting Nonfiction for Kids" (INK) -- great resource for what's new and interesting informational text for all content areas. Check it out!

K - 3 LEADERS:  I am so glad to see you are using the wikipage to share resources. Please remember to add any plans as you develop them with your students!

Laura's Page has visual literacy prompts that her district is using as a common local assessment at grades K - 6.  She also has embedded curriculum resources for Ruby Bridges, based on her book Through My Eyes, about being the first white child to enroll in an all-white school.

Lisa's Page has a link to a YouTube about Ruby Bridges.

Kathy Wright's Page

Susan's Page  has the Grade Expectations (K - 3) for writing in response to informational text and for reading initial understanding of informational text.

Andrea's Page has a prompt for students to use with the Norman Rockwell painting (link on Laura's page).
